industry has multiplied several times its
performance and offers now attractive opportunities
for investment.
We are interested in having world producers
come to Cuba in an early stage in which there
are possibilities of achieving relevant business
operations so that we may triple the current
income.
The investment opportunities are the follows:
1. Marine fishes farming
According to the opinion of Cuban specialists
and international experts who have visited
the Island, Cuba, due to its tropical climate
of steady temperature and warm waters, has
exceptional conditions for the growth of
culture fish, whose commercial size may be
reached in half the time estimated for other
latitudes. The main target is the development
of sea fish with the technology of farms
in protected coastal locations such as coves,
gulfs or coral barriers.Cuba has the qualification
of the labor force and is located in the
center of the American continent, close to
the markets of the Caribbean, Central and
South America and Canada, and not far form
Europe.

2. Shrimp farming
At world scale there is a growing demand
for shrimp and Cuba is highly interested
in associating for foreign groups who may
supply the capital for the development of
the shrimp culture reservoirs. We have experienced
and highly skilled labor force.

3. Oyster Culture
In the fist place we will develop the production
of large oysters and investments in high
technology for the culture of other types
of oysters.

4. Aquaculture
There is a total of 1 000 hectares with cultivation
facilities, but the financing for the work
capital is lacking, particularly for the
purchase of animal feed. We are highly interested
in negotiating these already built 1 000
hectares with groups willing to associate
for the supply of capitals that may allow
us, in the first place, to buy the adequate
animal feed and other components.

5. Feed
We calculate that in the next 10 years the
production volume of cultures will be such,
that more than 200 000 tons of animal feed
will be required.

6. High value added products
We are determined to create a network of
industries all over the country that prepare
high added value products, since those products
are being currently imported. In addition,
we intend to deliver them to the Caribbean
area and to Europe, since we have a large
source of raw material in lobster, shrimp
and culture fish. The fishing industry requires
new technology and capital to prepare those
products.
